An afternoon of Constraint-based and Oulipian writing, starring: DANIEL LEVIN BECKER, CHRISTIAN BOK, NIKKI SHEPPY, DEREK BEAULIEU, lovingly hosted by JEAN-JACQUES POUCEL.

Readers will present a short excerpt of their favourite constraint-based writing (in French or English) and an excerpt of their own work … followed by refreshments (by donation) as provided by Shelf Life Books.

ABOUT THE READERS:

DANIEL LEVIN BECKER
Author of “Many Subtle Channels: in Praise of Potential Literature” (Harvard UP) and translator of Georges Perec’s “Un Boutique Obscure” and Frederic Forte’s “Minute Operas” (w/ Jean-Jacques Poucel). Reviews editor for The Beliver and member, since 2009, of the Oulipo.

CHRISTIAN BOK
Author of “Crystallography”, “Eunoia” and “‘Pataphysics: the Poetics of an Imaginary Science.”

NIKKI SHEPPY
Author of “Grrrlhood: a ludic suite” and columnist for Uppercase Magazine.

Calgary’s Poet Laureate and author of “Kern”, “Please, No More Poetry” and “How to Write”

JEAN-JACQUES POUCEL
